In this book, the numbers 0 – 20 are taught in a similar fashion as the ABC’s book. The numbers have been turned into picture clues to look like the amounts they represent. Reaches all types of learners: Visual (sight), Auditory (hearing) and Tactile (touch) too! If someone is having difficulty learning, often it is because they are a TACTILE learner.
Most counting books only teach the numbers 1-10. But what about the number ZERO? It’s a very important number! In fact, in my book, ZERO is a Hero. I’m excited to share with you how I decided to teach the most difficult numbers, the next ten, 11-20, using the clues that they’ve just learned. Then at the end of the book, based on the number 10, it goes to 100!
Darrin and Maria Duncan –
We were delighted with “123 What Do You See?” book and program for learning to write numbers. (Newly done as “123’s See How Many”) We had a bright little first grade boy that continually wrote his 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s, and 9s backwards. He practiced writing his numbers through repetitive practice drills since kindergarten, but when he had to write his numbers without an example in front of him, he reversed the numbers. I am a school teacher and my children’s education is very important to us. The bottom line is: My husband sat down with our 1st grader one time for 15 minutes and our boy’s problem was corrected. It was fun and painless. He didn’t need a written example to write his numbers anymore. The best part was that he thought he was so smart, and we thought so too!! Thank you.
