Children will LOVE learning how to write upper and lower case letters, and the numbers zero through ten by drawing them with their finger. It’s difficult for young children to write with a pencil. Their fine motor skills are not that well developed. All Lower Case letters and the Numbers are a simplified version of the picture clues taught in the ABC’s and 123’s books. Here is where they will learn the Upper Case letters, which also have become the clue for the sound. There’s also a little story for each letter and number.
The very exciting side effect of learning to write by drawing the sound clues or the number amounts is that it is also making those clues very vivid in their minds. So their writing reinforces their reading! And their reading reinforces their writing! For example: When they try to write a word that starts with b, such as bat, they think of the first sound, /b/. “Oh, that’s the bat and ball! I will make a bat and ball.” (Imaginary) This also not only cures but it prevents Dyslexia! b and d are the most difficult for children to keep straight. They just need to make sure that the bat comes first.

ABC’s and 123’s See How to Write” is a fun and creative way to learn not only the letters and numbers, but also the correct way to write them. My 4-year old son got his letters and numbers down pat, and he also exercised his imagination and the confidence to “see” what is in this head.
